BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a content and brand marketer at a small SaaS company that has since been acquired by a large, publicly-traded company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire RevenueZen, and what were your goals?

We were expanding our reach and working on going up market. We hired RevenueZen to improve our SEO performance through optimizations and content creation.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We talked to and considered a handful of other companies. RevenueZen's research and thoughtfulness propelled them to the front of pack.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

Our engagement began with a discovery phase, which evolved into the implementation of the keyword research and recommendations. The next phase included the creation of new content to help us reach our SEO goals, as well as ghostwriting for the CEO's social media accounts.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

They assigned an initial researcher, project manager, and 2-3 content specialists.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We started to see some traction on a few key pages, as well as good early traffic from key pieces of new content.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

RevenueZen was so responsive to every question and need, especially on Slack. They were organized both in terms of tracking results in dashboards and keeping us on target for new content creation.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their professionalism, vision, and clear communication style. We've benefited so much from their partnership. They are the kind of trustworthy experts every company looks for when searching for a new vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish we could have had more time to see the results of their work!

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Senior Content Marketing Manager for Bloomfire, a knowledge management software company. My focus is on creating content to increase Bloomfire's visibility in the market, generate demand, and educate current and future customers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire RevenueZen, and what were your goals?

We hired RevenueZen to help us build out an SEO strategy and drive more qualified organic traffic to our website. Organic traffic is an important channel for us and we were looking for expert guidance to identify new keyword and content opportunities.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We originally began working with the team at Doorbell Digital Marketing before they were acquired by RevenueZen. We identified them by evaluating vendors on Upwork. Ken Marshall, now the Chief Growth Officer at RevenueZen, put together a video auditing our website and keyword rankings, and we liked the recommendations he presented in the video.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

RevenueZen works with us on keyword research and delivers monthly blog briefs to help guide our content writers and ensure we are optimizing our blog posts for search engines. They have also worked with us on a campaign to build backlinks with relevant sites and provide ongoing consultation services for technical SEO.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily work with an SEO strategy lead but have also been supported by RevenueZen's Chief Growth Officer, Sr. Director of Strategy, CXO, and Analytics Team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In the first two quarters of 2022, we have seen an 88% year-over-year increase in organic traffic and a 42% YoY increase in unique pageviews from organic traffic. We have also started seeing upward movement in search ranking positions for several keywords important to our market.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The RevenueZen team communicates with us over Slack and is generally pretty responsive when we have questions or requests. We also have a recurring monthly meeting with our SEO strategy lead where we review a monthly SEO report and dashboard that the RevenueZen team has set up for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The RevenueZen team is easy to work with and does a good job of communicating results through our monthly SEO report. I also appreciate their expertise in technical SEO and their ongoing recommendations for improvement.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think there was a learning curve for RevenueZen in understanding our business focus and keywords that are most relevant to us, but I think this is to be expected with any vendor, and they've done a good job of working with us to figure out keyword prioritization.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive at a software startup that builds financial planning software.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with RevenueZen?

Our company is in the startup space, and we’re trying to go to market. Since our team consists of engineers, I wanted more marketing and sales partners, so we hired RevenueZen.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

RevenueZen provides us with marketing and branding services. They help craft our messaging and structure it into an outline and to post on LinkedIn. The team also creates a content calendar for us. Additionally, they’ve done SEO, specifically regarding organic marketing content. The team has helped with outbound sales from LinkedIn, though they no longer provide us with that service.

What is the team composition?

Throughout the engagement, I’ve worked with Steven (Sr. Outbound Strategist) and Hali (Sr. Brand Strategist).

How did you come to work with RevenueZen?

I found them through LinkedIn, and their specialization was very interesting. RevenueZen’s founders have experience in accounting software, which is our focus — that was something we really valued.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend $1,000 a month with them. In total, we’ve spent $6,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to RevenueZen, we’ve seen an increase in leads. We’ve also been able to get a design partner out of the engagement. The team has answered many key questions for us. Moreover, they’re very good and hardworking people who are very experienced at what they do.

How did RevenueZen perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very good at project management. We have weekly calls and meetings that keep us on track. Our communication tools are Slack and Zoom, and we use a voice recorder called Fathom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with RevenueZen’s expertise. They’ve done this so many times that I trust there’s no learning curve for them, which I appreciate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They don’t really need to improve anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you have a marketing need, contact Alex (Founder & CEO), who’ll place you with the right team — they have a good onboarding process.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a marketing operations manager at InsurGrid. InsurGrid is an insurance technology company that helps insurance agents automate the collection of important insurance information from clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire RevenueZen, and what were your goals?

We initially hired RevenueZen to help with sending cold outreach messages to insurance agents via LinkedIn. We then reached out to RevenueZen to help build our SEO presence and drive organic traffic to our website InsurGrid.com.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected RevenueZen through a connection between the InsurGrid COO and an employee of RevenueZen.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

Our engagement began with a discovery phase and we laid out our goals and what we wanted to accomplish. They did a great job with keyword research. A contract was shared with us that explained exactly what was included in what we were purchasing. From here they made on-site changes and created new documents with updated keywords. Their team has also written monthly blogs that are created with target keywords in mind.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

To date, we have worked with the CXO, a Senior Director of Strategy, 3 different Senior SEO Strategists, and a Content Manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since starting with RevenueZen and their efforts on the SEO side, we have seen an increase in our ranking on Google Search as well as an increase in our overall organic traffic. This growth has helped us get closer to our desired growth.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

In the beginning, some things were not clear. However, since we realigned on what was needed by us they have done a good job at meeting deadlines and creating recurring meetings for us to review progress and discuss ideas to improve upon our organic growth. I really appreciate their willingness to work with us so we fully understand all the levers we can utilize as well as the complications that come with SEO.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really appreciate their overall knowledge of the industry as well as Google Analytics. The teams we have worked with so far also have many impressive tools they use to determine what is best and is working and not working for our website/blog content.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would like a continued emphasis on explanation of specific areas of SEO, the analytics they have set up for InsurGrid, and hitting deadline dates of the next steps from monthly meetings. We really appreciate their willingness to create multiple special metrics we have been using to track overall organic growth at InsurGrid. I believe they have created 3 total analytics dashboards for our team.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the head of marketing (first marketer) for a global AI company. Sales was previously through personal referrals and founder sales. I brought in Revenue Zen as part of a focused, lead-generating marketing strategy.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire RevenueZen, and what were your goals?

When we started, we had no content strategy, no meta data, no keywords, no baseline of what good was for SEO. We hired Revenue Zen to first provide strategic guidance around domain strategy, site optimization, and organic search. We expanded our relationship to an ongoing retainer including account management, SEO strategy and optimization and content creation, with the goal of improved rankings and increased traffic.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed individuals as well as agencies, and felt that Revenue Zen had a pragmatic approach.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

Project started with discovery (competitive, content audit, keyword research, editorial calendar) and creation of analytics dashboard. We then moved into a technical SEO audit, page level optimizations, website structure optimization, speed optimization. We are currently under an ongoing monthly retainer which includes campaign strategy, content development, link building.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We work on a day to day basis with our terrific, very patient lead strategist/ account manager who is the quarterback for other resources (content director, writers, backlinking team, analytics lead etc) within Revenue Zen. Leadership team is accessible when needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have seen significant month over month improvement. I'm not able to share more specifics based on my employer's preference.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Revenue Zen is flexible in using Slack or email to communicate. They're strong at project management, clear in deliverables and send reminders to keep things on track.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We're impressed with their strong industry knowledge and willingness to find answers to issues we're experiencing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. Very happy with the results and interactions so far.
