We launched earlier this year with a very basic yet clunky wordpress website. We brought Veza Digital on as a technical partner to re-design and build our website.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online globally for design and web development agencies and shortlisted 4 companies. After speaking with each, we chose Veza Digital based on their experience in webflow, depth of knowledge in web ux, and enthusiasm for our sector. Their cost estimate was on the higher end of other quotes we received, however we felt confident in the team's technical capabilities to help us long term based on their portfolio.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, the team delivered a sitemap, followed by high fidelity wireframes for the site. After a few iterations, the team designs and developed our website on webflow. The team also shared in-depth tutorials to help us understand how to update and maintain the website.

We had a dedicated project manager as our main point of contact. As we picked up during the summer months, we also had a back-up project manager - both were across details of the project. We also had a lead designer and developers working in the background.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our overall site speed has considerably increased despite more content on our site. The site is easy to update and both internal and external stakeholders have complimented the website. Furthermore, the website is future-proof, being responsive to mobile and tablets and changes/new pages are much easier to spin up when needed.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We had a dedicated slack channel to communicate with the project team. We were also sent a weekly update from the team via email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed and professionalism of the team are mention-worthy. The project which could have easily taken 6 months to 9 months was completed within 6 weeks. Furthermore, the team are very responsive to feedback.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the team are really responsive to ideas and feedback, there isn't a neat way to capture this - it's either shared in meetings, slack or email. Introducing a way to direct this feedback could limit the amount of adhoc comms that come through via the different communication channels we use.

After several discovery calls, Veza sent us a statement of work that defined the project deliverables and timelines. After the project launched and we sent our assets along with creative expectations, they ran with the project and sent us weekly progress reports.

The Veza team is very collaborative and supportive. We ran through some technical issues when we launched our new landing page, and they were tremendous in helping us push our website live.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have a great design sense and they're easy to collaborate with. They take feedback very well and they respectfully reach out to us when they need something. They are very professional, and I truly respect that.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Weekly reports - more clarity or details would be great. Feel free to give your clients due dates on notes or required assets and let us know what the dependencies are.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of marketing at Webconnex, a software company based in Sacramento, California. We make event, ticketing, and fundraising software.

What challenge were you trying to address with Veza Digital?

We needed some new websites. Our previous sites were good, but they lacked depth, optimization, and credibility. For SEO, some things were missing. We had a few pain points and needed to upgrade; it was the right time to push forward towards something new with a lot more power behind it. We needed an agency to help us address some challenges in this new growth phase.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Veza Digital provides us with web development. They’ve built a website for one of our products from scratch using Webflow, Figma, and InVision. We had some specifications from a branding standpoint, and we provided them with a branding style guide. Our previous websites served as a foundation from a copy standpoint. Additionally, we looked at a few other websites and pulled a few samples that we gave Veza Digital. 

As a part of the new website, they helped us with images and animations. Adding to that, they built SEO work into the site. Currently, we’re in the maintenance stage, and Veza Digital is working on web optimization, including Google Analytics and A/B testing of landing pages, buttons, and site performance. We have plans for them to build three other websites.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Stefan (Founder & CEO) to start, and then he passed us over to the team. Jamal (Director of Partnerships) is our project manager and lead, and we’ve worked with designers. In total, we’ve worked with 5–6 people from Veza digital throughout the process.

My colleague found them through an organic search. We were looking for someone to drive us forward from an SEO standpoint. Veza Digital was really strong there, and they'd helped many other companies.

So far, we’ve spent about $50,000.

We started working together in January 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The main metric is that the new website is live — Veza Digital got the project over the finish line. Now, we’re in the process of optimization and maintenance, which will take some time to figure out. 

How did Veza Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been really impressed with their team through the whole process, ever since the initial conversations. Like with all big projects, there have been things we’ve had to update and change, coming back to the drawing board. Veza Digital has been attentive, skillful, and on top of things. Jamal is talented at managing his team, keeping us updated, and translating our needs. We’ve felt taken care of the whole way, and I would surely recommend Veza Digital to others if they want a world-class web-building experience. 

In terms of communication, we have Slack, and we use Google Docs and Google Sheets to lay things out. Figma has played a big role in collaboration as well. Although they use other tools, we don't see them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Veza Digital’s relation-building elements distinguish them from other providers. They deliver on a human level, making an experience like this really positive. While you can always find a place to get a good website, we’ve built authentic and genuine friendships with Veza Digital’s team — that’s what makes them stand out.

As professionals and as people, we’ve been really impressed with who they are and how they operate. As we’ve moved into the project, working with Veza Digital has been a tremendous experience from personal and business standpoints. They understand who we are and what we want to accomplish. We see them as team members now; we were looking for a long-term partner to create many websites and provide ongoing maintenance, and we found that with Veza Digital. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have had a little more care and attention when we first started. There was a slight miscommunication during our first review meeting, and they missed the mark on some things that we wanted. This stumble out the gate was due to a lack of clarity. However, Veza Digital rectified the issue and by the next meeting, we were dynamite and ready to rock thereon. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Veza Digital is 100% worth the investment! They will bend over backward to ensure that you get exactly what you need. They’ll build great relationships and be more than just an agency creating a product; you’ll add members to your team, which feels really good. 

My advice is to stop trying to get some cut-price deal somewhere else and sacrifice things when it’s well worth the investment to do this right the first time. That’s what Veza Digital offers, and it’s why we’ll continue to work with them.

Our website was created many years ago and was out-dated. So we needed to redesign and incorporate new content and wording for our solutions and newer products that were not on the older website.

I searched online for a few web development agencies and had a shortlist and final interviews and ultimately made a selection.

We had a kick off meeting to discuss the deliverables both for projects design and the architecture of the website. We made a move away from Wordpress and adopted the new web development client Webflow. The key deliverables were a refreshed design and to structure some of the original content of our older website that needed to be transferred over to the new website, along with new content that we had procured based on internal meetings.

Project manager was our main point of contact, we also had meetings with a designer and a few web developers during the course of the project.

We are finished with the project now, but we are not launched yet as we still have to make adjustments to the copy and schedule a launch date that required approvals.

They use Webflow for web development and encouraged us to leave Wordpress for Webflow. They trained us on how to use Webflow and were always available to answer our questions for navigating how to use the new web client

They could improve on using more original designs as some of the design content were taken from stock websites.
